About the Journal

About

The Postgraduate Medical Journal of Ghana (PMJG) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal. Its first publication was issued in 2012 and it is published and managed by the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS). The scope of the journal is centred on health care and medical sciences and this includes, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Orthorhinolaryngology, Radiology, Public health e.t.c. In this regard, the journal focuses on original research articles, case studies, commentaries and special articles.

The aim of the journal is to provide cost-free access to original research findings and scholarly articles that can support policy development  in the health sector, and the continuous professional development of doctors and medical specialists.  

Softcopies of publsihed issues can be accessed on the Archives page of our website; hardcopies are available at the GCPS library, all teaching hospitals and public libraries within the country. 

Authors interested in publishing with the PMJG  are welcome to make submissions via a registered account.

Publication Frequency

The PMJG is published twice a year, the first publication is issued in March and the second in September.

Charges

The PMJG charges no fee for the reception, processing and publication of submissions.

Archiving

All published items are archived at CLOCKSS.

Open Access Policy

The PMJG is an Open Access journal and publishes under the CC BY license (Creative Commons Attribution License) 4.0 International. This makes the PMJG available to readers and/or users without a fee.

Submission to this journal implies that authors have agreed to have their articles published under the CC BY license. This permits readers and/or users  to read, distribute, print, search, or link to full texts of the articles, tweak, build upon it or use for commercial purposes as long as credit is given to authors as the original creators.
